manifesto

This has been quite a time. The price of gas has us wondering whether retreating to the isolation of rural america with handheld weapons is a prudent choice. Our food is contaminated. Our troops die by the dozen and our president chooses to ignore the truth.
Fear not.
We at the Nightlight still believe in the *power* of heart, mind, and soul, put forth for the world to see in a free and open spirit with an uninhibited display of creativity, imagination, and mirth. The magic lies in the path of beauty, which is found in each of us each time we step from the normal to the imagined.

We commend you! Come help us continue a tradition that began two years ago. What is sought is a night to remind us that each beautiful person should step out, dance, freak, and shout that we can make it happen, we can change the world through our love of life and pushing boundaries! That night is Friday.

The last Creativeimprovisationmas, for those who missed it, culminated in a legendary street parade which had 60 participants according to the Chapel Hill Police Dept. The aforementioned CHPD, who shut the thing down once the paraders got to the Post Office, have found many opportunities to shut down our music making. THEY HAVE NOT SHUT DOWN OUR SPIRIT!

A parade in the streets will follow afterward, so bring instruments, noisemakers, costumes, colors, shapes, sizes, and your open heart. Humor, quirks, laughs, and love will shape the night and with this energy will come a new tomorrow predicated on zeal and pointing us towards the beginning of the rest of our beautiful lives.
